18 weeks

Today is 18 weeks . . and 5 days away from the big ultrasound!

I've finally started getting my energy back the past two weeks. The past few days I've had moments when I've thought I've felt the baby moving. I'm so excited to start feeling this more regularly and to know for sure its the baby I'm feeling.

Between really strange dreams, bathroom breaks and just randomly waking up throughout the night to toss and turn, a good nights sleep has already started to become more difficult in the past few days. I hope its just a phase for the time being.

I'm really looking forward to the great weather this weekend. It will be wonderful to have a couple of beautiful days in a row. I'm excited to get the windows open and let the fresh air in.

Funny the way it is . .

I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am for the release of the new DMB album, Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King, June 2nd. The 2 songs I've heard so far have been great. Today they released a free download of the first single - Funny The Way It Is.

My favorite lyrics from it . . "Somebodies heart is broken, And it becomes your favorite song"

July 24th can't come seen enough. :)

A few Belly Shots

I really need to get on the ball with taking more pictures. It seems like everytime I grab for the camera the batteries let me down. I then turn to the laptop to snap a quick pic. Below are 2 pics thus far.

13 weeks 3 days

15 weeks 3 days

I feel like my belly is growing in a weird way that doesn't look natural but perhaps its just the fact that I've sat here staring at these pictures picking them apart. :)

Here are 2 pictures from out in the yard this weekend. One of me chasing Lucy around and one of Joe taking a pic of my growing little bump. It was a great weekend to get some stuff done outside and we even cut the grass once already.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and the Easter Bunny is good to them :)

Beautiful

My brother, a photojournalist, shared this video with me. He liked how well it was put together and I liked the content. It made me cry, some John Mayer helped though. ;)

The author made the video during the last 2 months of his wife's pregnancy with their first child. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

An Orange . .

Happy Friday!

Lately it seems as though the hours in a day are broken up into how long until its time to eat and weeks are broken up into countdowns to the next Doctor appt - 26 days currently :)

I'm 15 weeks 1 day today and our second official doctor appointment was bright and early at 7AM this windy rainy morning. I can't even begin to put into words how much I looked forward to that one big sigh of relief we experienced this morning (for the third time this year) when hearing the heartbeat. All the worry just slips away. Every time we walk out of that office with positive news its reminds me we're one step closer to coming home with our healthy baby.

I also have to say just how happy I am to have found a doctor we really like. Over the past year dealing with Lyme, a DVT, and a new found clotting disorder I've seen my fair share of doctors. Not many of them were much to write home about sadly enough. Its such a breath of fresh air to finally meet a doctor willing to bend his own schedule just to see a patient. We were able to schedule our big 20 week ultra sound where we do plan to find out the gender. I'm too much of a planner not to find out so I'm thankful my husband feels the same way. We were also able to schedule our next appointment with our regular doctor (after he moved his schedule around a bit for us). And the countdown to the next appointment begin. Its a vicious cycle.

I think the most surprising thing to me about pregnancy thus far is how stressful it has been just being pregnant. Never in my life did I ever imagine the worry that would consume me the way it has at moments in the past 3 months. Perhaps this is normal for an expecting mother who's life is about to change or perhaps my clotting disorder has me constantly alert at how things can turn so suddenly and this could all become a very distant dream. Staying positive is important though and I spend a lot of time taking other peoples advice by trying to concentrate on that.

So at 15 weeks I'm told the baby is about the size of an orange. Rather than post the picture they show you on babycenter (because lets be honest its just a tad creepy and looks like something out of the TV show Fringe) I give you an orange . . .

Updated belly pics are on their way! :) Enjoy the weekend!

Whats in a name?

Legend says that each leaf of the clover means something: the first is for hope, the second for faith, the third for love and the fourth for luck.

When I was younger I remember sitting in the grass with my Mom searching for 4 leaf clovers in our back yard. She'd always be the one to find them. And when she did they'd be laminated and stuck into our velcro wallets to carry around for luck. I like the idea that it wasn't just luck we had stuffed into those little wallets but also the hope, faith and love that we all hope to have in life . . a little luck sure doesn't hurt either.

First and foremost . . coming up with a blog name is really hard work! I've spent way more time than I'd like to admit sitting here trying to come up with an available yet appropriate blog name. I won't say this is the best one I could have come up with but I like it enough none the less.

My hope is for this to be a place I can share pictures, new recipes, random thoughts/ideas and perhaps events going on in our life at the moment. I'd also like to use it to chronicle the changes in one big event for us . . the progress of my pregnancy. I love reading the blogs of other pregnant woman and think it will be something wonderful to look back on once its over. :)
